Sleepers Fitted and New Wall Built in Caterham on the Hill
Our Customers requested railway sleepers to be removed from the front garden from their two lawns. They also requested a small wall and step to be built by Vas Landscaped. First we removed the existing sleepers and excavated approx. 6 metres long for new footings. Once the trench was dug out we poured concrete for a new footing. Next we divided the height of the two lawns for equal steps.
We then we placed a course of brick work and began to build a 9 inch brick wall with ties and drainage holes. The wall was built and we then placed a Natural Stone paving slab and reduced the slab down.
The step leading up to the lawn was shoulder coursed so it would blend in with the brickwork. We trimmed the grass in front and behind the wall and removed some of the existing turf and replaced with new so that the finish would look nice. The customers were very happy and satisfied with the work carried out.
