At VAS Landscapes, we take pride in showcasing the quality of our work—and this project is a great example. During quieter periods, we invested time into completing our own driveway and front garden to demonstrate the high standards we deliver for our clients across Croydon, Bromley, and surrounding areas.
The project originally began during lockdown, where we completed the left-hand side of the front garden, including the installation of a soakaway system to ensure effective drainage. In 2025, we completed the rear garden patio, which can be viewed on our website.
Earlier this year, after finishing several client projects, we continued work on the front driveway transformation. The remaining area was paved using Natural Indian Sandstone (Kandla Grey) laid in a coursed pattern, creating a clean, modern finish. To enhance the overall design, we incorporated brick detailing, adding contrast and character to the driveway.
At the entrance of the driveway, we installed 6-inch concrete edging to clearly separate the paved area from the public footpath and neatly tie into the existing tarmac, which was made good for a seamless finish. We also fitted ACO drainage channels, connected to the previously installed soakaway, ensuring efficient water management and compliance with drainage best practices.
For added security, we constructed a brick entrance feature and installed a central security post, helping to prevent vehicle theft—an increasingly important feature for homeowners in the Croydon and Bromley areas.
Future plans for the project include removing the existing hedges and replacing them with a brick wall boundary, along with the installation of an additional security post. This will not only improve security further but also widen the driveway, increasing usability and kerb appeal.
