We were contacted by a customer in Bexley who wanted to transform their rear garden by replacing the existing patio. Following a site visit, we discussed the layout, drainage requirements and the best paving choice to suit the property and existing garden features.

The old paving was removed and the area was carefully prepared for the new installation. We installed the required sub-base materials to create a stable, long-lasting foundation for the patio.

To improve drainage around the property, we fitted ACO channel drains and connected them into the existing soakaways. This helps direct surface water away from the house while keeping the patio practical throughout the year.

The new patio was laid using Raj Green Indian sandstone in a mixed-size pattern. This natural stone provides a traditional finish with subtle variations in colour, complementing the established garden walls, planting and surrounding features.

Once the paving was in place, the joints were pointed with a sand-and-cement mix to give a neat, durable finish. We also paved the side access to create a consistent route around the property.

The existing garden walls were retained, helping to frame the finished patio and preserve the character of the garden. The completed space is now a clean, attractive and practical area for the customer to enjoy.

The customer was very happy with the finished result and the transformation of their rear garden.
